Hortencia Garcia Rios

Hortencia Garcia Rios, age 92, died Wednesday January 14, 2014 at her home in Holcomb, Kansas. She was born on October 4, 1921 at Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Pedro and Agapita (Delgado) Garcia. Hortencia married Manuel Molina Rios in 1940 at San Antonio Texas. He passed away June 14, 1987.

Mrs. Rios Garcia and her family moved to Kansas in 1963. She enjoyed gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, various siblings, 1 son-Andrew Rios and 1 daughter-Carmen Jurado .

Survivors include her children, Manuel Rios, Jr. of Scott City, Kansas, Juanita Otero of Garden City, Kansas, Pete Rios of Garden City, Kansas, Tony Rios of Garden City, Kansas, Lupe Rios of Holcomb, Kansas, Mary Garcia of Holcomb, Kansas, Anita Treto of Dodge City, Kansas, Elena Rios of Denver Colorado, Ramona Gandarilla of Holcomb, Kansas, Betsy Villanueva of Garden City, Kansas, Francis Rios of Dodge City, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home. 
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Friday, January 17, 2014 at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Seiwert officiating.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. 
Vigil service will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St Mary Catholic Church. 
Memorials may be given to the Hortencia Garcia Rios Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
