Henry Robert “Bob” Wagner
Henry Robert “Bob” Wagner, 91, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Gray County from injuries sustained from a car wreck.
He was born August 25, 1924 at Rozel, Kansas the son of Henry and Christina Wagner. He was a longtime Bucklin resident moving to Dodge City in 1992.
Bob proudly served in the US Navy and was in World War II.
Bob was a Teacher, Administrator, Principal and Counselor before retiring in 1987 from the Bucklin USD 459 school system. After his retirement he drove the van for the South West Kansas Area Library System and was also a Para for the Special-Ed classes at the Dodge City High School.
He was a long time member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bucklin. Bob was an Elder in the church and the Church Treasurer. After moving to Dodge City he became a member and elder of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
On August 16, 1959 he married Marilyn J. Offerle at Kinsley, Kansas. She Survives.
Other survivors include: 1 son, Kent Wagner and wife Casey, Holcomb, Kansas; 1 daughter, Elaine McDaniel and husband Jeff, Dodge City, Kansas; 2 sisters, Ella Morrison and Darlene Wagner both of Kinsley, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Shelby Waldman, Whitney McDaniel, Courtney McDaniel, Morgan Wagner, Chelsea Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 sisters. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday March 17, 2016 at the Holy Cross Lutheran church with Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:30 pm Thursday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Offerle, Kansas.
