Health Awareness Week scheduled for Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan. — Garden City Commissioner, Roy Cessna, will read a proclamation at Florence Wilson Elementary School, 1709 Labrador Blvd., at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 21st. The proclamation declares the week of January 20th through January 26, 2019, as Health Awareness Week in Garden City, Kansas. The proclamation will urge all residents of Garden City to take advantage of the many wellness opportunities available during the week. The commissioner will also participate in a healthy activity with the students and staff after reading the proclamation.
Six main areas of health will be focused on during the week at the schools. The areas include: nutritional health, physical health, mental health, health through safety, tobacco and drug prevention, and health through screening and prevention.
