Harold F. Sexton, 77, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home in Wright. 

He was born March 16, 1939 at Oakland, California the son of Clarence and Alice M. (Knapp) Sexton. An area resident since 1967, moving from Garden City, he was a truck driver for several trucking companies in the area, retiring January 13, 2014 from Dodge City Express. He attended the First Christian Church, Dodge City and enjoyed western movies, especially John Wayne and county and western music. 

He served in the United States Army from February 1957 to February 1958. 

On December 20, 2003 he married Maxine Knox at Dodge City. She survives. 

Other survivors include: 5 children, Robert Munn, Rolla, Kansas, Richard Tidwell, Wright, Lance Tidwell and wife Sandie, Enid, Oklahoma, Junior Tidwell and wife Elizabeth, Shingleton, Michigan and Patty Jones, Woodward, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Donald Munn and 2 brothers-in-law. 

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Dodge City, with Richard Crockett officiating. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City, with full military honors by Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Military Honors for the State of Kansas. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. 

The family suggests memorials to the Cancer Center of Kansas or American Diabetes Association both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
