Gerald “Gary” Harding Hallett Sr.

Gerald “Gary” Harding Hallett Sr., 61, died April 13, 2017 in Pulaski County near Winamac, Indiana.  He was born on July 5, 1955 in Dodge City, Kansas the son of William Hallett and Bob (BD) and Vida (Speer) Reekie.

Gary was raised in Dodge City and attended Dodge City Schools.  After completing his education, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where he was a member for 42 years. Gary started working with the Local 304 Union of Topeka towards becoming a journeyman lineman.  He married Deborah Hallett and they currently lived in Shady Cove, Oregon. Gary traveled throughout the United States working for various electric companies.  At the time of his death, he was working for Par Electrical Contractors, Inc. in Winamac, Indiana as a corporate superintendent.  Gary enjoyed buying and fixing a variety of things; sometimes to sell and sometimes to keep.  He favorite pastime was restoring old pick-up trucks.

Gary is survived by his wife, Deborah of Shady Cove, Oregon; children, Shane Webb (Cara) of Dodge City, Melissa Marsh (Aaron) of Prineville, Oregon, Gary Hallett, Jr. (Christina) of Hunington Beach, California, Chelsea Hallett of Terrebone, Oregon, and Schreen Sandoval of Pampa, Texas; siblings, Frankie Emerson (Mary) of Clinton, Missouri, Kay Bellman of Florida, and Jerry Persefield of Houston, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings, Jimmy Persefield and Jacquie May.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday April 27, 2017 at 9:30 AM with Pastor Justin Hayes presiding.  Burial will follow at Silent Land Cemetery in Spearville.  Friends may sign the guest book on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM.
