Georgia Carol “Sue” Bunyan

Georgia Carol “Sue” Bunyan died July 1, 2015 at 1:16 p.m. at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, Kansas. She was born on September 10, 1943 to Kenneth Clyde Bunyan and Maxine (Clothier) Bunyan in Hutchinson, Kansas. Sue received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a teenager and was baptized at the Church of Christ in Dodge City, Kansas. Later during her adult years, she renewed her faith in Jesus Christ while living in Miami, Florida. Sue attended Dodge City Schools, worked at Eckles Department Store, Saint Anthony’s Hospital, and other local businesses. Sue loved art, music, and horses. She lived many years as a resident at Good Samaritan Society in Dodge City and Protection Valley Manor in Protection, Kansas. Sue loved talking with people, playing Bingo (where she won more than her share of teddy bears and other prizes). Her days in the nursing homes always went better if she had a couple of Pepsi Colas. She liked her Pepsi’s. Survivors include a son, Jay Barlow of Illinois; an Aunt, Beth Ann Clothier who resides at the Good Samaritan Society of Dodge City; a brother, Max Bunyan (and Claudia) Salem, VA.; niece, Elisabeth Bunyan Bass (Mathew, sons Cory and Blake) Salem, VA.; nephew, Josh Bunyan (Tessa and daughter Kenah) Joplin, MO; and nephew Peter Bunyan soon to be a resident of Roanoke, VA. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pastors Carl and Joyce Nance (Celebration Church, Dodge City) will be officiating. (Ziegler Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements). There was no viewing as cremation had already taken place.
