GCPD seeking help with fatality accident
On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at approximately 6:50 a.m., officers of the Garden City Police
Department were dispatched to a pedestrian accident in the 500 block of N. Fourth St. The
preliminary investigation determined Gary Orosco (52) of Garden City, KS was driving a
2012 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Fourth St. and Tiofilo Gallardo (77) of Garden City,
KS was walking westbound across Fourth St. Tiofilo was struck by the pickup and sustained
significant injuries. He was initially treated on scene by staff from St. Catherine Hospital and
then transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing and we are asking for help in identifying two possible witnesses
to the accident. One witness was driving a gray four door passenger vehicle and the other was
driving a maroon sport utility vehicle. Both vehicles were behind the pickup and stopped at
the scene, but we have not been able to identify them to find out what they saw. Anyone with
