GCHS To Host ACT Test Prep Class
Garden City High School will sponsor an ACT Test Prep Class for GCHS students on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. through 12:45 p.m. The class will be held in the GCHS library, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd. The fee for the class is $45 (pre-paid).
Pre-payment is necessary to register in the class. Students must register in the GCHS Career Center and pay the $45 fee to reserve a seat in the class by Monday, October 7th. The class size is limited.
This workshop includes practical and relevant information on how a student can increase their ACT score. It shows how to control the test and not let it control you. The workshop covers what will be on the test and how to master test-taking techniques. This class is not a practice test for the ACT. Students will need to bring a pencil, paper and math calculator to the workshop.
Students will learn general ideas about the ACT as a whole and the individual tests that include: English, math, reading and science. Students will learn what ACT test-writers are looking for in English and how to approach different types of questions. Math, students will learn about necessary problem-solving skills and math skills. Reading, students will learn the best method for doing well on ACT reading. Science, students will learn common question types and what’s really required to do well on the test.
