GCHS Students Wins Award for Bomb Plot Documentary

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City High School junior Oscar Fernandez recently won first place in the Olathe Northwest eMagine Media Festival for his 10 minute edit of the documentary “rebuilding trust” that he made with Delaney DeSpain
The documentary examines the relationship between Garden City and the Somali community following the alleged bomb plot in October 2016.

Fernandez tells us about the documentary.

This is the first time that a Western Kansas high school has won first place at the prestigious festival.
