Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Not even mother nature could save Colby.

After lightning forced the finale of Friday’s doubleheader to be moved to Tuesday, Garden City started where they left off.

Abbie Dart allowed just one hit, tossing a complete-game gem as the Buffaloes ransacked Colby 7-1 at Tangeman Sports Complex.

“This was a game we needed,” Dart said afterwards. “Especially with Great Bend coming in on Thursday.”

And she was sensational, striking out 14 and retiring the first nine batters she faced. It wasn’t until Elissa Zerr singled to lead off the fourth that Dart’s perfect game was ever in jeopardy.

Dart added a solo bomb in the bottom of the third. She drove in two.
