Garden City, KS-At some point, the Buffaloes girls will figure out a way to score more goals. In the meantime, their dramatic victories will have to do.

Emmeline Gomez scored twice in the final five minutes as Garden City came back to beat Great Bend 2-1 Thursday night at Buffalo Stadium.

“We are getting so many opportunities,” assistant coach Josue Negron said afterwards. “We have to start capitalizing.”

The Panthers struck first, thanks to Kaily Griffith’s unassisted goal in the 18th minute. The score stayed that way until the 75th minute when Gomez found the back of the net. She did it once more two minutes later.

“Two deep goals,” Negron said. “We needed that badly.

Garden City again out shot their opponent 21-8. They improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the WAC.
