Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The final numbers tell that of a blowout.

But no such thing occurred on Thursday night at Buffalo Stadium.

Francisco Cayetano scored the go-ahead goal in the 62nd minute as Dodge City beat Garden City for the second time this season 2-1.

The numbers go much deeper than that.

Dodge City out shot the Buffaloes 32-3, yet Garden City tied the match with Jose Herrera’s score in the 33rd minute.

“We played really well,” Assistant Coach Josue Negron said afterwards. “I like the fight that our guys showed.”

Mario Martinez scored the first goal for Dodge City 19 minutes into the match.

The Red Demons improved to 10-0 and 5-0 in the WAC. The Buffaloes dropped to 6-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
