GCHS JROTC cade receives award
Dixie Drake, the Regent District Officer for the National Society of the Daughter of the American Revolution, presented Natalie Camacho, Garden City High School JORTC senior, the ROTC Medal on Thursday, May 10th. Natalie demonstrated academic excellence, dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership and fundamental and patriotic understanding of the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
She also received a $100.00 scholarship from the organization. The group awards scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a lineage-based membership service organization for women who are directly descended from a person involved in the United States’ efforts towards independence. A non-profit group, they work to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
