GCHS golf mixed bag in Hays; Dodge comes in sixth

Hays, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-One can only imagine that when the Gaspar’s moved back to Garden City, golf coach Jake Waller did several back flips. 

During Monday’s opening meet in Hays, Gaspar showed the type of progress that figures to keep the Buffaloes in postseason contention. 

Gaspar shot a team-best 48, pacing the Buffaloes to a fourth-place finish. She finished ninth overall. Elena Lemke was right behind her witha  51, while Morgan Cabral shot a 55. As a team, Garden City totaled a 211. 

Dodge City finished sixth, led by Chesney Moore’s 54. Emily Stephenson tallied a 57 and Taylor Starnes a 58.
