GCHS Golf blows away competition

Hays, Kansas (westernkansasnews.com)-There’s nothing like a dominating performance to start the season. And that’s exactly what Garden City girls’ golf Coach Melinda Base got from her team in Hays on Tuesday afternoon.

The Buffaloes tallied a 176; good enough to claim victory at the Hays Invitational.

“I was really pleased with our overall team performance,” Base said afterwards. “I’m really excited for the rest of the season and am excited to see us improve after each tournament.”

Garden City was led by senior Abbi Shaddix, who posted a 3-under 34 at Smokey Hill Country Club.
