GCHS FCCLA Students Qualify for State Tournament

Garden City High School Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students competed on Wednesday, January 30th at Satanta High School to qualify for the state tournament that will be held in Wichita, Kansas on April 5th – 7th. FCCLA takes only the top student in each district and category on to the next level of competition.
Garden City High School students that took first in their category and will advance on to state include: Nhu Dihn and Aley Cannaley, Sports Nutrition; Janet Vargas, Focus on Children, Seferino Ramirez, Fashion Construction; Janesa Montez, Interior Design; Daisy Rivas, Public Policy Advocate; and Audrey Norquest, Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation.
Aaron Herrada and Angel Guevara also competed but did not qualify for state in Sports Nutrition.
GCHS will also have teams competing in the Baking, Pastry and Culinary Arts events at the state competition.
