GCHS Baseball Opens the 2013 Spring Sports Season Today-Audio
Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – The Garden City High School Baseball team had one of their best seasons in recent years during 2012, finishing with a 10-11 record and came so close to a chance for a State Tournament berth. Coach Bill Wilson enters his 25th season as a Baseball Coach, and has guided the Buffaloes on a couple of different stints at Garden City from 1985-1994 and currently from 2004 to the present. He also had coaching stops at Holcomb and Lakeland Florida. The Buffaloes lost some key seniors a year ago, but found an attitude and focus from the younger players to work hard and prepare well for the 2013 season. Today the Buffaloes will face a quality team to start their season, as the 4-0 Word of Life Fire from Wichita are in town today for a double header. Coach Wilson comments on his teams preparation and effort and previews the upcoming season.
