GCHS art students place at show
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Garden City High School art students held an art show on Friday, November 10th, in the lobby area of the auditorium at the high school. A variety of medias were featured that included drawing, painting, graphic design, ceramics, and sculpture.
The art show was juried by Aubrey Diehl. The art work is now on display at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street. The K-12 Art Show display includes artwork from all grades across the district. The show runs through December 15th.
Best of Show was Kaci Bunch “Selfie”
Drawing: 1st place, Kaci Bunch “Day of the Dead”, 2nd place Paige Gigot, and 3rd place, Shane Gillespie “Starry Night in NYC”.
Painting: 1st place, Esmeralda Sepulveda “Alex Turner”, 2nd place, Kyar Oo “Cherry Blossoms”, and 3rd place, Alejandra Reyes “Tree Stump”
Sculpture: 1st place, Angelina West “Sea Turtle”, 2nd place, AJ Ramirez “Jackson Pollock Tribute”, and 3rd place, Elizabeth Unruh “Painting with Ross”.
Computer Graphics: 1st place, Chinh Nguyen, 2nd place, Baldomero Marquez, and 3rd place, Javier Cervantez.
Ceramics: 1st place, Manuel Avila “The Catrina has Risen”, 2nd place, Miranda Ferrel “The Unseen Mary”, and 3rd place, Mari Rico “La Catrina”.
