GCCC Women Run Their Way to Big 81-47 Win

gc sterling 11-22

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Saturday Garden City Head Women’s Basketball Coach Nick Salazar wanted to see more from his defense.  Mission accomplished.

Highlights

The Broncbusters best defense was their offense scoring 39 points off 32 Sterling turnovers for a convincing 81-47 win in wrapping up a two game stretch at the Pizza Hut/Dodge City Classic.  Sophomore Losha Morris scored 24 points, 20 in the first half.   Coach Salazar feels Morris is becoming a complete player.

Tashawnya Edwards added 15 and Shontera Williams pulled down 10 rebounds in the win.  Defensively, Garden City held Sterling’s Jessica Princ to 10 points, far short of the 24 she scored in Friday night’s loss to Dodge City Community College.

Garden City returns home having won six of their last seven (6-3) and will play Clarendon Tuesday night.  Tip-off is 5:30, pre-game is 5:15 on Today’s KBUF (1030AM) and westernkansasnews.com.
