GCCC Women Notch Fifth Win 73-56 over Neosho County
Hutchinson, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City Community College (5-7) rode a 23 point, sixteen rebound performance from Shauqunna Collins to beat Neosho County (6-8) 73-56 Friday night at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS.
The Broncbusters led 33-20 at half only to allow an 8-0 run to get Neosho County into the game and with the lead down to three halfway through the second half went on a 21-4 run over the next four minutes to put the game away. Head Coach Nick Salazar challenged his lead Collins to do more than just put the game on her shoulders.
Collins had four of the Broncbusters 12 assists. GCCC redshirt sophomore Jasmine Christmas finished with 14 points and freshman Loysha Morris added 11. Saturday’s game with Southwest Christian was cancelled. The Broncbusters take a two game winning streak into Friday’s Buster shootout with Clarendon College. Tip off is at 5:30pm.
