GCCC Women Cruise to Ninth Win 80-51

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It may have looked easy, but Garden City Community College Women’s Basketball Coach Nick Salazar is still looking for more from his team despite enjoying an easy 80-51 home win over Adams State (JV) (1-7) Tuesday night.

Game Highlights

Still two players made steady improvement.

Three players scored in double figures for the Broncbusters led by both Losha Morris 16 and Tashawnya Edwards who also chipped in 16.  Garden City had a 56-38 rebounding edge led by Shontera Williams 11.  Williams scored 9 points finishing one point shy of a double-double.  The Broncbusters displayed consistency from outside hitting 8-17 three’s at 47%.

Adams State Candace Shaw poured in 26 points in the loss going 7-12 from the free throw line and 8-21 from the field which included connecting on three 3 pointers. 

Garden City (9-4) ends the calendar year with a road game Saturday at Otero.  Two weeks ago Garden City lost a 12 point lead at home in falling 83-81 to Otero.  Tip off is 6pm, pre-game coverage begins at 5:45 on Today’s KBUF 1030-AM and westernkansasnews.com
