GCCC to partner with High Plains Public Radio for Living Room Concert

GARDEN CITY, Kan. — Garden City Community College is pleased to partner with High Plains Public Radio and the Tumbleweed Festival for the first ever Living Room Concert and a series of events geared towards providing arts and humanities education and opportunities to the citizens of Southwest Kansas. The Living Room Concert with celebrated Musician and educator, Martin Gilmore, will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 7:30 PM in the Beth Tedrow Student Center Portico. All events in this series are free and open to the public. Patrons are encouraged to express their gratitude by offering a free will donation to Gilmore on the night of the concert.
Gilmore will also present two workshops on the GCCC campus as part of the series. A songwriting workshop will be held immediately before the concert on the 21st at 5:00 PM. A second workshop, a “Studio Seminar,” will be held in the GCCC Band Building on Friday, March 22, at 10:00 AM. Both workshops are also free and open to the public.
Martin Gilmore is a celebrated Musician and educator. In addition to his many recordings and accolades, Martin serves as an instructor at the University of Northern Colorado in their new Folk and Bluegrass Studies program. He is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, mandolinist, and recording artist. From founding bluegrass band, Long Road Home, to national and international studio recording, Gilmore has a long list of accolades.
