GCCC softball picks up two road wins
Borger, TX (westernkansasnews.com)-Rachel Roe allowed just one earned run while her teammate Barb Nigon, who took the ball in game two, allowed two, as Garden City picked up two wins over Frank Phillips Wednesday afternoon 4-3 and 6-2.
After falling behind 2-1 in the opener, the Busters responded two in the third to take the lead for good. Frank Phillips tied the game again in the fourth before Garden City (5-3, 0-0) grabbed the lead for good in the sixth.
Brooke Lovas drove in two runs in the opener.
The same scenario played out in game two when the Busters spotted Frank Phillips a 2-0 lead. But a four-run fifth proved to be the different. Denise Dentlinger and Erin Jankiewicz recorded mult-hit games, while Lovas knocked in two more.
