GCCC offering Women on Target class Saturday
The GCCC Department of Public Safety will hold a Women on Target Class, Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The NRA Women on Target class teaches safety principles and helps to develop the knowledge, skill and attitudes needed to successfully pursue shooting interests.
This is an eight hour, hands-on course which will be include shooting handguns. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to select, clean and store a firearm; develop and improve shooting skills; understand firearm parts and operation; understand ammunition and its function; understand and demonstrate safe firearms handling; apply and develop shooting fundamentals and develop marksmanship skills on the range.
Certificates are awarded to participants who successfully complete the NRA Women on Target Course. The Registration fee is $70.00 and includes course materials and ammunition. The class will meet at the GCCC John Collins Vocational Building, Room 1206, and will move to the range in the afternoon. Participants are encouraged to provide their own eye and ear protection. Weapons are provided, however, you may bring your own handgun. No experience is necessary to participate in this course. Pre-registration is required for this course. Registrations will be accepted until Friday, February 9, at noon.
