GCCC Buster Men Unable to Solve the Zone and Match Scoring of the of the Eagles-Audio
Cheyenne, WY (www.westerkansasnews.com) – It was size, strength and overall scoring talent plus a match-up zone defense that kept the Garden City Community College Busters Basketball team from getting back into the win column last night in Cheyenne Wyoming, as the Laramie County Golden Eagles beat the Busters 75-57. The Busters found it difficult to penetrate the Golden Eagle zone defense and couple that with a poor shooting night from the perimeter and very little inside game for Garden City hampered their efforts on a long road trip at the 2012 Sleep Inn Laramie County Community College Golden Eagle Classic.
Garden City did have three players in double figures including Chris Hall who led all scorers with 20 points knocking down three trey’s with one of them being an unconventional 4 point play when he was fouled on the made three pointer mid-way through the 2nd half and knocked down the free throw. Reubon King chipped in 17 points with a triple trey effort along with 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and point guard Frank Agholor added 10, as the Busters drop to 4-2 on the season and will face Eastern Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. Coach Rand Chappell comments in the post game about how the effort, hard work and attention to the game plan must get better for this team to be successful.
