GC Police announce “Text 911” service

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Police Department and several departments across the state are announcing “Text 911” on Thursday. A service that will allow people who can’t make a voice call to reach 911.

Support Services Director for the Garden City Police Department Kathy Kuenstler on Text 911.

Kuenstler also touched on the incidents where you might use “Text 911”.

To text 911, put 911 in the send line include the location and explain the emergency and make sure you use plain language, no emojis.
