GC Commission Passes Resolution on Municipal Elections

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) At Tuesday’s Garden City commission meeting a resolution affirming the position to keep local municipal elections non-partisan and in April. Mayor Roy Cessna is concerned some current office holders and potential candidates would not be allowed to run if they had to declare a party.

The city commission joined up to 124 school boards in the state who have taken the same position.  Not everyone sees this the same way.  We will get the opposing view Thursday.
