GC Chamber Announces Upcoming Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Forum
Garden City, KS – The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce announced today its plans to host a Kansas Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
The event is open to the public and will feature candidates seeking election to the Kansas Governor’s seat this November. The event will take place in the auditorium at Garden City High School, 2720 Buffalo Way, and will begin with a 2 minute opening statement from each candidate, followed by a question and answer session. Each candidate will then provide a 2 minute statement to close out the forum. A reception will follow the forum where candidates will have the opportunity to mingle with guests and answer additional questions.
“It is our goal that this forum provides the citizens of Finney County and southwest Kansas the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates so they can make the best decision at election time,” said Myca Bunch, Chamber President. “We are happy to have the candidates visit southwest Kansas to participate in the event and wish them each success along the campaign trail.”
Candidates who have confirmed their attendance at this event are: Jim Barnett, Kris Kobach, Tracey Mann (Colyer), and Ken Selzer. Individuals interested in submitting a question for the forum may do so by emailing Chamber President Myca Bunch at mbunch@gardencitychamber.net. All questions will be pre-screened by the Chamber to prevent duplication and to ensure appropriateness.
A Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Forum will also take place in July and details will be released soon. For more information, please visit www.gardencitychamber.net.
