Gaylord “Lord” Kisner
Gaylord “Lord” Kisner, 74, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his home in Dodge City with his family and loving dog, Tredd, by his side.
He was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Offerle, the son of John and Mary Belle (Hull) Kisner.
On June 15, 1963, Gaylord and Willadean Burkhart were married in Spearville. Together, they had three children. A life-long area resident, he was the owner and operator of Kisner Electric in Dodge City for 40 years. He retired in 2009 and passed the business on to his son, John.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Willadean; two daughters, Zanitta Kisner, Pitifuk, Greenland, and Vienissa Corrales, Midland, Texas; a son, John, Dodge City; a sister, Francis Bostrom, Lakin; and a granddaughter, Erika Corrales. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin Simmons and John Kisner, Jr.; a sister, Blanch Sanko; and son-in-law, Heginio Corrales.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, founding member of the Dodge City Archery Club, National Shoot to Retrieve Association, Dodge City Gun Club and Nation Rifle Association.
A vigil service is planned for 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015, at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, with Fr. Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. A gathering of family and friends for a celebration of Gaylord’s life will take place at the Dodge City Gun Club at noon, Saturday, December 12, 2015. There will be no public viewing; cremation has taken place.
The family suggests memorials to the 4-H Shooting Sport Club, Hospice of the Prairie or Meals on Wheels, all in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
