Garden City Volleyball holds scrimmage

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Thursday Garden City volleyball held their brown-white scrimmage.

New head coach Trista Bailey said the big objective of last night’s scrimmage was to get the girls out on the court in front of people.

Bailey said she thought their communication on the back row was good, especially for a group with a lot of new faces.  She thought the front line played solid as well.

Coach Bailey did note that she thought they struggled serving on Thursday night, but said that and passing usually have to catch up early in the season.

Bailey also noted that the team has good chemistry and gets along well at this point, which she said is a big thing.

The team brings back four seniors from last year and will feature some new faces as well. Garden City will start the season Tuesday August 29 at Newton against Newton and Salina Central.
