Garden City Softball Holds TMP Marian Hitless; Coast to Doubleheader Sweep

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City’s Dusti Befort faced one over the minimum in her three innings and Freshman Abbie Dart was stellar in her debut on the mound as the Lady Buffaloes softball team improved to 2-1 handily beating Hays TMP (3-5) in a doubleheader 15-0 and 10-0 at Tangeman Field.

Both Befort and Dart no hit the Lady Monarchs and combined for twenty strikeouts, thirteen of them from Dart in her six innings. Befort allowed one base runner and Dart three on an error, hit batter and a walk. Five was the magic number in the first game as Garden City scored five in each inning before run ruling TMP after three. Shea Nordby was the story offensively knocking in four runs in each game. Abbie Dart had three RBIs in the doubleheader and the Lady Buffaloes batted around three times, twice in the first game.

Garden City will take on Goodland next Tuesday.
