Garden City Schools Asked to Explain Need For More Money
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Four Republican legislative leaders are asking the thirty-eight school districts seeking 12.3 million dollars total in emergency funding what they have done to become more efficient in recent years. Garden City schools has asked for 600-thousand dollars.
School District Public Information Coordinator Roy Cessna says Superintendent Steve Karlin only received the letter Wednesday afternoon. It is a quick turnaround. Friday is the deadline to respond. Doctor Karlin will be making a presentation on why the district needs the additional funding Monday before the State Finance Council in Topeka.
