The health and safety of the students and staff of Garden City Public Schools is always a high priority in our decision making process. District administration is continuing to monitor developments of the situation across the state and nation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Today the district received updated information from the Kansas State Department of Education and the Finney County Health Department. As a result of the information received and in an abundance of caution, Garden City Public Schools will be canceling all out-of-state student travel effective immediately. This includes all out-of-state field trips, events, conferences, tournaments and athletic activities. The postponement of travel will extend until further notice. District administration will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and provide travel updates as information becomes available.

All Garden City Public Schools are fully operational and scheduled activities within the schools, as well as travel in Kansas, will continue as planned.

Garden City Public Schools is also asking all students, families and staff members planning on traveling during Spring Break, scheduled March 16-20, to take extra precautions and practice healthy habits to prevent contracting and spreading COVID-19.

Those with questions regarding COVID-19 or exhibiting symptoms are encouraged to contact the 24-hour Finney County Health Department Hotline at 620-272-3600.

Garden City Public Schools will observe Spring Break March 16th – 20th.  School will not be in session during the break.  Classes are expected to be back in session on Monday, March 23, 2020.

The Educational Support Center (ESC), 1205 Fleming Street, will be open Monday – Thursday during the week with regular business hours. The ESC will be closed on Friday, March 20th.  The Teacher Resource Center at the ESC will be closed during the week.
