Garden City PD reports surge in fentanyl cases
Garden City, Kan.–The Garden Ctiy Police Department has reported a rise in fentanyl-related cases in Garden City.
Over the past few days, First Responders have responded to several suspected fentanyl-related overdoses in Garden City. While none of these overdoses resulted in death, fentanyl continues to drive the overdose epidemic and is the number one cause of death for Americans ages 18-45.
Fentanyl is being used to make fake prescription pills or mixed with other types of street drugs, in powder and pill form, to drive addiction. The deapartment advises to talk to friends and family members about fentanyl. No drug is worth your life.
The GCPD is investigating these incidents and continues efforts to stop the flow of drugs. They encourage the community to report illegal drug activity by calling us at (620) 276-1300.
