Garden City man shot during attempted robbery

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Wednesday January 10 at 4:59 a.m. Officers of the Garden City Police Department were called to the 600 block of 9th street for a reported shooting that had just occurred.

When Officer’s arrived, they found a 20-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the arm. Finney County EMS arrived and transported the victim to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment. The victim was treated and released.

The victim alleged he was walking in the 700 block of Elm St. when two masked suspects approached him. One suspect produced a firearm and demanded money from the victim. The victim stated he attempted to disarm the suspect and was shot in the arm during the scuffle. The suspects then fled on foot, and the victim fled to his residence to call the police.
The victim was unable to provide any suspect description other than the suspects were wearing masks.
