Garden City man arrested for drugs and firearms

WICHITA, KS — Garden City native, Adrian Lashawn Perkins, 41, was arrested and plead guilty to one count of unlawful possession of firearms in addition to selling drugs according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Perkins sold drugs to undercover investigators, who then served him a search warrant. After searching Perkins’ apartment, the authorities found packages of fentanyl-laced heroin and four guns. The four guns were listed as a .22 caliber pistol and three 9 mm handguns.

According to reports, the Justice Department has warned first responders about the danger that the fentanyl drug. The drug is a powerful synthetic opioid and is extremely dangerous.

Perkins’ sentencing will take place on Jan. 3, 2019. Perkins is looking at at least seven years in federal prison.
