Garden City man arrested after overnight burglary
Garden City, Kan.–Garden City Police Officers responded to an overnight auto burglary, that resulted in an arrest.
Around 1:30 Monday morning, a Garden City man was arrested after being caught committing an auto burglary and attempting to run from police. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of North 8th Street, where a man was seen rummaging through the reporting party’s vehicle.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Chance Wallace, ran from Officers as they arrived to the scene, and after a brief foot pursuit, Wallace was apprehended and taken into custody. Through further investigation, Wallace was lodged in the Finney County Jail for Auto Burglary, Interference LEO, Possession of Stimulants, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
As Officers patrol and work to keep the roads safe, they remind you to keep your property and belongings safe: always lock your vehicle and never leave the keys in it, remove valuables or at the very least hide them out of sight, park in busy, well-lit areas or your garage, and report suspicious activity to the police.
