Garden City man arrested after hitting multiple buildings, causing over $20,000 in damage
Garden City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) –
On June 13, 2022, at around 5:20 P.M., Officers of the Garden City Police Department, Garden City Fire Department, and Finney County EMS responded to the 1200 block of N. Taylor Avenue for an injury accident, involving a vehicle that struck a building and a power pole.
Officers located a Ford F150 with damage to the front passenger and driver sides, parked on the corner of Jenny Avenue and N. 11th Street. Officers observed the driver, identified as Daniel Ramon-Gastulo (34), Garden City, KS, and an 11-year-old passenger exiting the vehicle.
The investigation revealed that Ramon-Gastulo sideswiped the east wall of Dillons West and headed southeast, eventually striking a utility pole on the west side of Post Rock Trading Company. The vehicle then sideswiped the west wall of Post Rock Trading Company and continued through a privacy fence and sidewalk handrail of the Dillons West parking lot. The vehicle exited the parking lot and came to a stop on the corner of Jenny Avenue and N. 11th Street.
Through further investigation, it was determined that Ramon-Gastulo was suspected of driving under the influence. Ramon-Gastulo was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail on the following charges:
• DUI
• Child Endangerment
• Failure to Give Info or Render Aid
• No Proof of Liability Insurance
Ramon-Gastulo and the 11-year-old child were not injured from the accident. The total estimated property damage is over $20,000.00.
