Garden City High School will join thousands of schools throughout the United States, Canada, and around the world to celebrate National Student Leadership Week, April 19–25. The week is dedicated to recognizing and reinforcing the important role of student leaders. The theme for this year’s event is “Leadership in Lights.”

This year’s theme aims to shine a light on all of the amazing student leaders who make a difference in their schools and communities. Student leadership has the power to positively impact school climate and culture, and National Student Leadership Week provides an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on their outstanding contributions.

Presented by National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and its student programs, National Student Council (NatStuCo) and the National Honor Society (NHS), National Student Leadership Week is celebrated each April to highlight and encourage student leadership and service in the nation’s schools. NHS is the nation’s premier organization recognizing outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. NatStuCo promotes and provides leadership development opportunities to prepare and empower students to serve their schools and communities.

Both the Garden City High School National Honor Society and STUCO will be participating in National Student Leadership Week via social media.
