Garden City girls golf places 6th at state
Kansas City, KS (westenrkansasnews.com)-They weren’t the most ideal conditions for a state tournament.
Strong winds and an unfamiliar course not playing in the Garden City girls favor on Monday as they finished sixth at the 6A state tournament at Leawood Country Club.
Their team score of 389 was 14 shots back of fifth-place Manhattan. Danielle Gaspar, who finished as last year’s state runner up, tied for 21st with a 94. Her teammate teammate Morgan Cobral, who made her first appearance at state, shot a 95.
Topeka Washburn Rural won the team title while Rural’s Megan Lucas took home the individual crown.
