A Popular Garden City Doctor Dies in Traffic Accident
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Orthopedic surgeon Michael Baughman died in a one vehicle accident Friday afternoon shortly after 5:30. State troopers say the 58 year old was on Sagebrush Road 1 mile west of US 83 near Garden City when he lost control of his F150 rolling it over. Baughman was taken to St. Catherine Hospital where a short time later he died. Baughman wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Baughman graduated from both Kansas State and University of Kansas and opened up his practice Sandhill Orthopaedic and Sportsmedicine in Garden City twenty-one years ago. He was the official team physician for Garden City high school athletic teams since 1988 and provided many services to both area high schools and Garden City Community College.
