Garden City Chamber President Resigns

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Mark Hinde, Chairman of the Board of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that Steve Dyer, President of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce has tendered his resignation effectively immediately.

Dyer is leaving the Chamber to open an agency with Allstate Insurance. Although the transition begins immediately, Dyer will remain active until September 15th.

“For the last four plus years Steve has faithfully served the members of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce and the community,” said Hinde, “His leadership and relationship building helped take this organization to another level.  He will be missed and we thank him for his hard work and dedication to the Chamber.”

“I am honored to serve the members of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce,” comments Dyer, “With the help of our wonderful volunteers, board and staff, we have grown the chambers membership, programming and events.  The future is bright for the Chamber, Garden City and Finney County.”

Dyer’s role with Allstate Insurance will be as a Business Development Associate and will have a location in Garden City.  After the training period Dyer will be working to expand the presence of the products and services Allstate offers.  “I am very excited to be working for a fortune 100 company,” said Dyer, “I look forward to this new opportunity in my career.”

 A Search Committee comprised of Chamber Board members has been organized and will begin an immediate nationwide search for qualified candidates.
