Garden City Chamber Announces New Board Members
Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce
Garden City, KS – The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce announced recently the election of four new members to its Board of Directors. Each newly elected director will serve a 3-year term beginning January 2021.
The 14-member board represents the over 400 member businesses of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce. The Board sets policy, oversees the budget and helps guide the Chamber team as they work to provide connections, resources and solutions to help the region’s businesses prosper in Finney County’s growing economy.
“We are fortunate to have great leaders in our community,” said Myca Bunch, Chamber President. “The fact that these individuals are willing to volunteer to serve on the board is proof that our business leaders care about the success of our community and are willing to invest their time toward helping us maintain a vibrant business community.”
The new board members are: Ashley Boyts-Oyler, Hard at Play Signs; Roy Cessna, Garden City Public Schools; Scott Geier, 3G Electric; and Donny Huber, Higher Grounds, LLC.
The returning 2021 Board members are: Jeana Anliker, Coldwell Banker, The Real Estate Shoppe; Andy Fahrmeier, Hutton; Elizabeth Scheopner, Scheopner’s Water Conditioning; Roger Ratliff, Pishny Financial; Brandee Robles, Lee & Company Certified Public Accountants, LLC; Radonna Smythe, Wheatland Electric Co.; Aaron Stewart, Garden City Recreation Commission; Mark Whitley, Southwest Kansas Office Leasing; and Debbie Young, Golden Plains Credit Union. The 2021 ex-officio members are: Matt Allen, City of Garden City; Dr. Steve Karlin, Garden City Public Schools, Deb Oyler – past board president, Finney County United Way; Robert Reece, Finney County; and Dr. Ryan Ruda, Garden City Community College.
Retiring from the board at the end of 2020 are: Maxine Atkinson, ARC Real Estate; Angela Bordewick, Calzonetti Group: Prudential/Liberty Mutual; Lara Blake Bors, Bors Law, PA; Vickie Harshbarger, Mosaic; and Lora Schenider, Edward Jones.
“We are thankful for the numerous years each of the retiring board members have dedicated to serving the Chamber and the business community,” said Bunch. “Their expertise and guidance has helped the Chamber grow as an important resource for business owners and community members.”
