Garden City About to Go Italian
(westernkansasnews.com) Garden City, KS–City Commissioners decided at Tuesday’s meeting to accept a $10,000 bid from business partners out of southern California to buy the old American Legion building on Pine Street . Francesco Dorigo has owned a number of Italian restaurants out of state, now he will start one here.
The original bid of $1 for the Garden City Arts Council to buy the Legion building received some consideration from commissioners before they decided on the other offer.
The Garden City commission also delayed their decision on the level of commitment they would make to a joint ¼ penny tax extension with Finney County for a new juvenile service and corrections building. City commissioners believe they’ll have enough information at the November 19th meeting.
