Garnand Funeral Home

Freddie Ray Carrillo, age 49, died Friday, September 13, 2019, in Grand County, Colorado.  He was born September 8, 1970, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Frank Carrillo and Pat Sisco.  Freddie was raised by his great-grandmother, Emeteria Carrillo, the first four years of his life; and then was adopted by Frank and Pat.

Freddie grew up in Johnson City, Kansas, and attended Stanton County Elementary School and graduated from Stanton County High School in 1989.  After graduating, Freddie enlisted in the U.S. Army where he did his basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was stationed in Friedberg, Germany, and fought in Desert Storm.

After Fred’s discharge from the service, he worked for Sunflower Electric in Garden City, Kansas, for 16 years, working his way to Control Room Operator.  In February 2018, Fred moved to Grand Lake, Colorado, and worked for Northern Water as a control room operator until his demise.

Fred attended the Stillwater Community Chapel in Grand Lake.  He loved the outdoors and nature and felt so blessed to be where he was.  He loved the mountains and the excitement of speed. He was happy when trailing, boating, and riding his Harley.  Fred was always ready for a good time and would make sure everyone around him was having one too. He would light up a room and had a contagious laugh.  He always had a smile on his face and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He will be missed very much and was loved by so many. Freddie always had a story and could talk for hours.  He had such a great love for his family and friends.

Freddie is survived by a son, Jakob Carrillo and daughter, Carly Carrillo; and their mother, Lynn Carrillo all of Woodland Park, Colorado; his partner, Rebecca Ridenour of Grand Lake, Colorado; and her sons, Derek Ridenour of Grand Lake, Colorado, and Austin Ridenour of Phoenix, Arizona; mother, Pat Sisco of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brother, Troy Carrillo and wife Janice of Oelwein, Iowa; brother, Mario Beltran, Jr., of Ulysses, Kansas; sisters, Vicki Smith and Sara Doughty and husband Jim of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister, Rosalinda Beltran of Ulysses, Kansas; Aunt Ruth and Uncle Louie Partida of Johnson City, Kansas; Aunt Lupe Beltran of Ulysses, Kansas, Aunt Ramona Dominquez and Uncle Rudy of San Angelo, Texas; and uncle Gabriel Carrillo of Johnson City, Kansas; along with many cousins.
