Frances Marie (Kehn) Isaac

Frances Marie (Kehn) Isaac was born to Jacob S. and Eva (Koehn) Kehn on July 24, 1927, at Copeland. She peacefully passed away on November 19, 2016 at Bethel Home, Montezuma reaching the age of 89 years.

Mother spent her childhood years on a farm northeast of Copeland, Kansas, attending school at the Sunnyside Country School. As a youth, Mother accepted the Lord into her heart and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on January 4, 1942, by Minister David J. Koehn. She remained faithful to her vows until the end. At the age of sixteen her mother passed away leaving her with the responsibilities of keeping house, doing farm chores, and caring for her father and Sam her brother.

In December of 1947, Mother joined hands with Dad in Holy Matrimony, sharing life’s joys and sorrows for nearly 69 years. Mom stood by Dad through his fifty years serving as a deacon. She faithfully ministered to the needs of her husband, children, widows, and many others in need. She was very hospitable.

Mom lived a life of giving. From youth, her life was not easy, but through hardship she learned to be of service to others. Seldom, if ever, did we hear her complain that the load was too great or that too much was being required of her. In her times of sickness, she endured without complaint. Her satisfaction in life was found in making others happy. Mom, in her quiet way, taught us by example the lessons we needed for life. When there was something to be done, she did it. She had a deep love for Dad and each one of us children. Today, looking back, we see how enduring, sacrificial, and unconditional that love was. Her love was not expressed by outward demonstration as much as by her actions, and in the home she gave us.

Those left behind with cherished memories are her loving husband Allen Isaac, children: Carol and Richard Koehn, Scott City; Diane and Wilford Schmidt, Cimarron; Steve and Becky Isaac, Montezuma; Kelly and Deanna Isaac, Plains; Sharon and Doug Classen, Montezuma; Stan and Kim Isaac, Bruneau, Idaho; 22 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and 51 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother, two brothers-in law, one sister-in-law, one son-in-law, and one great grandson.

Funeral service will be held at Montezuma Mennonite Church on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Kalvin Salsbury, and Craig Koehn presiding. Burial will follow at Montezuma Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Monday November 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com
