Four Injured in Explosion at Liberal Business

Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The cause of an explosion at Groendyke Transport in Liberal is still under investigation after the accident Tuesday afternoon sent four to the hospital.  According to published reports Seward County Fire Chief Andrew Barkley says a propane or natural gas tanker inside a large metal building exploded and ignited a fire.  The exact cause of the explosion is undetermined.

Employees report despite the tanker being emptied gaseous fumes were released.  Three of the four injured have been taken by helicopter to a Wichita Hospital.  The fourth suffered minor burns.
