Former USD 457 Employees Arrested
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Two former Garden City High School employees have been charged with criminal deprivation of property. Martin Segovia Jr (45) El Paso Texas (formerly of Garden City) and Juan Neri (34)
On June 23, 2015, police were notified of a possible theft involving USD 457 employees.
The investigation revealed that from October 1, 2014, to June 1, 2015, Segovia and Neri allegedly used school equipment and supplies to create products for sale. These products were sold to individuals and companies while leading the customers to believe that profits from the sales would benefit USD 457. Segovia and Neri allegedly completed the transactions and retained over $10,000 in sales for personal use.
On April 6, 2017, Neri turned himself in to authorities and on June 15, 2017, Segovia turned himself into authorities. Neri and Segovia were charged by the Finney County Attorney’s Office for Criminal Deprivation of Property.
