Former Olympian Encourages Change to Promote Healthy Activities
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) City officials from around Southwest Kansas are in Garden City discussing issues associated with encouraging a healthier lifestyle. The Finney County Healthy Community Design Summit wants to turn the tide on a disturbing trend.
Keynote speaker and former Olympian Mark Fenton is calling on all parts of the community to find ways at getting people active again to avoid a long list of health problems.
Fenton is calling on parents to take the responsibility for kids unhealthy habits.
Fenton says cities can get people walking and biking at very little cost.
