Former Broncbuster players named NCAA All-Americans–Audio
Garden City, Ks (gobroncbusters.com)-Former Garden City Community College Broncbuster baseball players Alex Kelly and Tyler Rogers have recieved All-American Honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Kelly, a 2011 graduate of Garden City Community College and Fort Collins, CO native, moved on to Saint Louis University in the Atlantic-10 Conference. This season Kelly hit .342 and led the Billikens in Home Runs (12), Doubles (17), RBI (61), and Runs (45). For his efforts he was named an ABCA third-team All-American and a first team All-Midwest Region selection. In Kelly’s two seasons at Saint Louis the Billikens won back-to-back Atlantic 10 titles and competed in the 2013 NCAA Columbia Regional. He is the fifth player in Saint Louis Baseball history to be named an All-American.
Tyler Rogers, also a 2011 graduate of Garden City Community College, was named to the Second-Team ABCA All-American Team, and First-Team All-South Region team. Rogers was also named to the Louisville Slugger All-American 3rd-Team. Rogers attends Austin Peay State University of the Ohio Valley Conference. Rogers tied the Division 1 single-season saves record with 23 saves this year. He is currently tied with UCLA’s David Berg for the nation’s lead in stops. Rogers, of Littleton, CO, was also recently drafted in the 9th round by the San Francisco Giants organization.
